About us

A desk built around one question.

What will the transition cost this business, in which year, and how much of that can be fixed today? Everything we do sits behind that question.

Who we are

Carbon pricing became a treasury problem. Most firms are still treating it as a reporting one.

Sustainability teams model emissions. Finance teams model costs. The carbon price sits between the two, and in most organisations nobody owns it until the surrender deadline arrives.

CarbonHedge FZCO was established in Dubai to work in that gap. We are a commodity risk house: we quantify carbon and commodity exposure, build a hedging policy around it, and execute and settle against that policy. We cover carbon, energy, metals and freight on one desk because on an industrial balance sheet they are one exposure, not four.

We work with professional and corporate counterparties only. Our value is in being specific: a mapped exposure, a written mandate, a documented execution trail, and a clear statement of what we have not covered.

How we operate

Four commitments we will be measured against.

These are deliberately specific. A client should be able to hold us to each of them in writing.

01

We quantify before we recommend

No instrument is proposed before the exposure behind it has been mapped and agreed. Where the data is poor, that is stated as a range rather than smoothed into a single number.

02

We say when not to hedge

If an exposure is already passed through, immaterial, or better addressed by changing a supply contract, that is the advice. A mandate that should not exist is worse than no mandate.

03

We show the all-in cost

Price, spread, fees and any structuring cost are set out on every layer. You should never have to reconstruct what a hedge actually cost you.

04

We document for the auditor, not only for the trade

Serial numbers, registry confirmations, retirement certificates and policy-compliance records are part of the deliverable, not an afterthought.

Why the base matters

  • European compliance sessionCovered
  • Asian trading dayCovered
  • GCC industrial & energy counterpartiesLocal
  • Overlap with both London and SingaporeDaily

Practical, not symbolic: it means a European client and an Asian supplier can be dealt with inside the same working day.

Dubai

Between the regulation and the supply.

Most compliance demand sits in Europe. A large share of the physical supply, the project origination and the growing voluntary demand sits east of it.

Dubai sits in the overlap of both working days and is a natural meeting point for the counterparties on either side. It is also where a significant part of the region’s industrial, aviation and shipping activity is managed — three of the sectors most directly affected by the mechanisms we work with.

Leadership

Who you will actually deal with.

Mandates are run by the people who scoped them. There is no handover to an execution team you have never met.
